Carpaccio's Stallion Approval

We are thrilled to announce Carpaccio BVD Z has been approved during the New Zealand Warmblood Association Classification Tour and is now a Licensed Stallion, placing Reserve Champion.

Matthias Werner, the German Assessor, had these comments about the tour:

“So many of the horses were above average here. All that received Merit or Excellence Awards were the equivalent to very good horses in Germany”.

“I inspected a lot of really good horses.  There were some very modern types and good movers amongst them – and that’s what we are aiming to breed.”

“A lot of the horses seemed to have very good characters”

There was a great number of horses put forward during the tour – 130 in total making this probably the biggest Inspection Tour ever seen in New Zealand.

The stallions are marked on their Conformation, Movement & Overall Impression, as well as their Free Jumping ability. Carpaccio over-achieved in all areas, with Matthias particularly liking his loose, expressive movement, eager to please attitude and effortless jump.

As Daminos had already undergone licensing approval in Europe he did not need to be re-presented, however Vicki did bring him out on request for them to see. Since he hadn't free jumped since arriving in New Zealand she instead jumped him down the free jumping lane bareback, seriously impressing his audience with his spunk and athleticism.

The inaugural Team WS stallions arrived in New Zealand in October 2016 and are expecting their first crops of foals this spring. “Having stallions with pedigrees of this caliber, available right here in New Zealand, is a phenomenal opportunity” says Vicki Wilson, one of the riders for Team WS, alongside her youngest sister Amanda. “We are excited to showcase them first and foremost in the competition arena, but are equally excited to see the legacy they leave behind in their foals."

However, due to the recreational nature of the initiative, the stallions are not available at stud to the public and are exclusively available to Team WS owners, who are gifted complimentary stud fees; just one of the many benefits and incentives that all owners receive.
