The Wilson Sisters - Vicki, Kelly and Amanda, equestrian champions


The Wilson sisters are prominent figures on the equestrian scene, having successfully competed at the highest levels of Jumping for many years. More recently they have also gained international fame for their work with wild horses, being featured in the hit TV show Keeping Up With The Kaimanawas and a series of best-selling books.


Wild horses may have catapulted the Wilson sisters into the limelight, but Jumping has always been their primary focus and passion. Vicki and Amanda have won countless classes and national titles at the highest levels, right through to World Cup, and will be the riders for the Team WS horses. Kelly’s extensive business and marketing background, along with her attention to detail, will ensure that Team WS is professionally managed; she, alongside Alexa Dodson, will also act as liaison between the riders and the owners.

Vicki Wilson

Vicki is well regarded as one of the nation’s most competitive Jumping riders, with success at the Grand Prix and World Cup levels. At Horse of the Year, Vicki has won the Lowry Medallion five times and the Nationwide Cup nine times – more than any other rider in history.


She has also represented New Zealand three times as part the winning Trans Tasman Young Rider team, and has competed to 1.40m riding under the New Zealand flag in Europe with many wins and placings. Outside of the competition arena, Vicki is one of the country’s top horse trainers. Her specialties lie with fixing problem horses, starting young ones in any discipline, and the domestication of wild horses.

Amanda Wilson

Amanda has enjoyed huge success in the Jumping arena, positioning her as one of New Zealand’s most promising young riders. After a successful career on ponies, where she won multiple Pony Grand Prix classes, she has gone on to win and place in numerous Young Rider, Horse Grand Prix, Super League and World Cup classes.


She has won many titles. including Pony of the Year and 7-Year-Old Horse of the Year – as well as top finishes in the Olympic Cup in both 2015 and 2016, one of the most prestigious show jumping classes in Australasia. Amanda has a passion for young horses, as she loves to begin with a blank canvas. Her gentle approach is highly effective and has earned her a reputation for producing some of the best young horses on the show jumping circuit.

Kelly Wilson

Kelly grew up with horses and competed with success across the disciplines, including Jumping to Pony Grand Prix level, before concentrating on her creative talents. In 2009, she graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Graphic Design.


Since then, Kelly has become a highly sought-after freelance designer, equine journalist, best-selling author and award-winning photographer with numerous accolades, including the 2014 National Geographic People’s Choice Photographer of the Year. She has spearheaded the design, management and public relations of Wilson Sisters as this has grown into a unique and successful brand, and will do the same for Team WS.
